The Homestead (Projects for Street Children)

Established in 1982 The Homestead Project for Street Children has a simple mission – “to help Street Children reconstruct their shattered lives.” It is a registered Non Profit Organization based in Cape Town, South Africa.

R.A.P.C.A.N works to:

• develop resources for abuse and neglect awareness and prevention;
• inculcate a child rights ethos in our society;
• build capacity among organisations providing services to children;
• strengthen the protection of children´s rights in law and policy;
• meaningfully involve children and young people in the lives of their
• families and communities.
